Are you a liveaboard diver

ARE YOU A LIVEABOAR DIVER? TAKE THE TEST

1.YOU ENJOY WAKING UP WITH THE OCEAN AROUND YOU?
For some people it’s the ultimate feeling of freedom waking up with the ocean surrounding you, for others it is very depressing not to have land within the range of vision.  Imagine a daily soft breeze and the glittering of the ocean all day long. Is that something for you?

2. YOU ARE MORE THE ADVENTURE TYPE?
Being at the beach all day long is sheer boredom for you? You love to explore different destinations and see as much as you can during your vacation?

3. YOU LOVE ROLLER COASTERS & DON’T GET SICK EASILY?
Getting sick on a boat compares best to a roller coaster ride. If your stomach is very sensitive, a cruise might not be the best option for you. Do you love roller coaster rides?
4. YOU LOVE TO MEET LIKE-MINDED DIVERS?
You simply love to talk about diving all day long? You enjoy meeting people who share your fascination for the underwater world? You want to have more diving friends?

5. YOU WANT TO DIVE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE?
For you a dive vacation is the ultimate feeling of happiness? You want to dive as much as possible during that vacation and make the most out of your dive trip with the maximum number of dives. 4 or even 5 dive days is 4 or 5 times pleasure! Is that you?

6. YOU ENJOY LIVING ON A BOAT?
Can you imagine to live on a boat for a week, which is cruising to exotic places? The crew is taking care of your meals, the dive operations and cabin hygiene daily. Is that something you might enjoy?

OVERALL SCORE: ?
If you scored a 5 / 6 YES then you are certainly a liveaboard fan!  It’s simply the way to dive & travel for you. If you scored 4 or less, then you might prefer diving from a resort!

Liveaboard diving vacation can be the best thing that you ever do – it allows you to visit dive sites that usually diving from the shore or even boat from the dive site on day trips won’t give you a chance to visit. If you choose the right liveaboard with outstanding service, well maintained equipment and facilities, well trained staff and interesting itinerary – you hit the jackpot. You can tick off the best of the best dives in that destination and go home happy with lifetime memories.
On the other hand, you have to know a few points, why liveaboard diving could be challenging or uncomfortable for some. Before you book the liveaboard, check with your agent for the itinerary and the crossings – spending time sailing. When the sea gets rough on crossing time, some of us with sensitive stomachs can experience sea sickness and you won’t be able to step ashore, you have to live through it. On some occasions the crossing may take up to 30 hours.
Another point to take into account is that you will spend, usually at least 7 nights or more in a closed environment with other people. This can be a lot of fun for you or it can drive you crazy. If you are a kind of person, who likes privacy or maybe you want to have a romantic vacation with your partner – then its best to choose to stay at a resort. There is always an option to combine resort and liveaboard experience in one trip. In many destinations it is possible to do 3-5 night liveaboards cruises.
In any case, choose your liveaboard carefully. There are so many boats, in some destinations more than others, but there are good and not so good boats or liveaboard operators. It is always best to consult an expert before making your choice and ask them about what to expect and what to bring with you on board. We are happy to help!
